A balanced corporate identity with the design of all regular collateral for lawyers in Dutch insurance and liability law. Maurice Esseling contacted me in 2013. We used to do a parachuting course together, but then we both went our own way. He had some good news. He had quit his job at the law firm where he worked. And together with a number of other lawyers, they started their own practice, V&A Advocaten. They needed a logo. And a corporate identity. And printed matter. And a website.
Brand Identity Design
This was a dream job that you don’t often encounter; the design may start with almost nothing except a name and then finish with a complete applied house style.
In collaboration with all the lawyers involved, I recommended a logo that relied heavily on typography because of the abstract nature of the Insurance and Liability Law services.
The typography with reliable, heavy writing, combined with the business-like, limited color palette and a great deal of attention for functional white space has ensured a calm, well-considered and balanced visual identity.
