Our son Liam celebrated his first birthday. Quite a milestone in his short life so far. For our kids, we always design (and print) an invitation to the birthday party, based on the theme we come up with for that birthday that year.

Although designing such invitations never fits nicely into both our busy schedules, it is always fun to do. And because we run our own companies as Freelancers, we can quickly make design choices.
Concept: Circus
When children reach the age of one, they usually do not have a strong preference for things other than sleeping, eating and playing. Liam was no exception. The theme of this birthday was therefore not inspired by Liam or our preferences, except that ‘circus’ is always a rewarding theme to work with as a graphic designer. The bright colors, typical typography and vintage icons always make it a nice theme.
