When we started, the existing T-Mobile webshop was more than five years old, so the need for renewal of the webshop was clear.
Senior Project Manager and Conceptenzo owner Roy Nikkelen had just supervised a comprehensive website re-design and brand style change process at KPN when he was asked by T-Mobile to also redesign the corporate website / webshop there. Roy approached me and designer / front-end developer Sebastiaan Biesheuvel to tackle this process in collaboration with T-Mobile.
The briefing from T-Mobile was simple. Make the website and webshop fresh and contemporary. The old website felt stuffy, small and limited due to the frequent use of all sorts of borders and frames and, on the contrary, no whitespace where that would help.
By removing the frames and borders, using more white space in a smart way and using a larger header visual, a light, fresh and spaciously designed webshop was created. By also looking critically at the amount of content and its structure, the webshop quickly got a better look.
Special detail; when the project was already underway, the news came that a new T-Mobile logo had to be included in the design.
