Youwe is a full service internet agency from Rotterdam, Groningen, Amsterdam, Kiev (Russia) and London (UK). They are specialists in the field of Magento e-commerce. Since 2000 they have been able to serve beautiful customers; Grolsch, Heidelberg, SNS Bank, 24Kitchen, Spinning Records, PPG and Postnl.

Design briefing
Rob Wiek (CEO) approached me with a simple briefing; “You can re-design a few pages of our corporate website Youwe.nl. And don’t worry about the content.”
Solution direction and Art Direction
As with many companies, and especially agencies, it seemed that Youwe never paid any attention to their own online communication. Or even a well-founded corporate identity more than a few colors and typography. They didn’t document their identity into an online identity guide. Colors and typography from the logo are incorporated into the website design and that’s often it.
So, based on nothing more than their existing website, I designed two new versions.
Variations
Variation 1 got a more traditional look & feel, but with a lot of white space and balanced graphic elements. To get a more consistent style in the various communication expressions, I also suggested a change in the typography used. Variation 2 became less traditional in design and use of color. In these designs, more freedom compared to the Youwe house style has been taken. Youwe chose to continue with Version 1.
