This illustration, used on the invitation for my 40th birthday, was inspired by some of the artworks I was working on at the time. It started as a pencil sketch and was finished later in Adobe Illustrator.

Who doesn’t like a good party? When I turned 40, I didn’t want to let that pass by easily. That is why I designed an invitation to the birthday party entirely in the style of my creations at that time.

It shows various iconic forms and elements that are often used in my art. The Converse All Stars sneakers represent a relaxed and relaxed attitude. The rocket symbolises the continuation of my life, which was about to start from that moment. The birdhouse represents the concept of ‘home’ in combination with my last name; a place where I can charge my batteries figuratively and think about my next steps.
